Source origins

The native host is reshaped from Tessera's feat/sway-replacement branch at be7f8c7b5143d7313d64c10aacafdd8dfd4e4127. Tessera's native owner thread, copying queues, scene-buffer presentation and configure/commit separation supply the starting mechanisms. Window management decisions are implemented in Sigil.

The optional text renderer is ported from Tessera's feat/text-layer branch at ad7818dfe7e8c9507c5b3f3ff960a6ea7c147f47. It uses sigil-cairo, sigil-harfbuzz, sigil-freetype and sigil-fontconfig without changing those libraries. The core native library does not link them.

David Wilson's contributions are licensed under BSD-3-Clause. The original wlroots example portions retain the MIT notice in src/c/host.c.

The optional legacy-decoration client fixture uses test/protocol/server-decoration.xml, licensed LGPL-2.1-or-later with its original notice retained. Its generated client bindings are used only by the protocol test executable; the native host uses wlroots' public decoration API.

protocol/wlr-foreign-toplevel-management-unstable-v1.xml is copied unchanged from wlroots 0.19.3, retaining Ilia Bozhinov's original permission notice. Its generated client bindings are used by the taskbar fixture; production uses the wlroots public foreign-toplevel APIs. The ext list client bindings are generated from the installed wayland-protocols staging XML.

protocol/wlr-gamma-control-unstable-v1.xml is copied unchanged from gammastep v2.0.11's src/gamma-control.xml, with Giulio Camuffo and Simon Ser's permission notice retained. The source is https://gitlab.com/chinstrap/gammastep/-/blob/v2.0.11/src/gamma-control.xml. Its generated bindings are used only by the one-shot gamma protocol fixture.
